Funding education and providing opportunities in greater Accra, Ghana, West Africa

Courage Minten was born in Ghana, West Africa and was adopted to the United States in 2014. He stayed in contact with his younger siblings, Abigail & Derrick. He worked summers during high school at a lumber mill and helped them financially to attend school.

Without an education in Ghana, jobs are very limited. Education costs a lot of money that many do not have. School fees, which include tuition, school supplies, admission forms, entrance exams, uniforms, books, electricity and more, put an education out of reach for millions of Ghanaian children.

During senior year in high school, Courage chose his senior project to be “Education for Courage’s Siblings” and fundraised with the help of a friend to build a savings and continue to support their education.

In July 2022, Courage suddenly and tragically passed away. A pill someone gave him for pain relief was actually a fake oxycodone pill and laced with two times the amount of fentanyl to be lethal.

The Courage Fund's mission is to continue what Courage started: to fund education for youth in greater Accra, Ghana, West Africa, empowering and preparing them for a successful future.

The Courage Fund is a 501c(3) nonprofit charity.
